Moving Mountains : mountains in transition

The biennial conference of the Swiss Geomorphological Society will be held this year from 6 to 8
September in the Val de Bagnes (VS), a region renowned for glaciology and geomorphology.
The theme of the conference is: Moving Mountains : mountains in transition.

The symposium welcomes contributions from research, applied research or field practice, related to current geomorphological issues.

It is open to oral or poster presentations or geomorphological topics addressed by researchers in Switzerland or neighbouring countries. Impacts of climate change on slope stability, landscape evolution, and geoheritage management are just a few examples of the topics that may be addressed. Presentations by young researchers (PhD students, masters) are particularly encouraged. Contributions may be presented in a national language, but English is preferred.

The symposium on Thursday will be preceded by a conference for the general public on Wednesday evening, and will be followed by an excursion in the Mont Fort region on Friday.
