European Young Geomorphologists Meeting
In June 2023, the Young Geomorphologists of the Swiss, French and Italian Geomorphological Societies are organising a European meeting of young geomorphologists ! This event will take place from 9 to 11 June under the format of a small symposium followed by excursions through the landscapes of the Mont Blanc region.

The Swiss, Italian and French Young Geomorphologists representatives organise a European meeting of young geomorphologists on 9-11 June 2023 in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc (France) under the auspices of the International Association of Geomorphologists (IAG).
This meeting is open to all the young researchers interested in geomorphology. Advanced students, PhD students and early career researchers can submit an oral presentation on the various themes of geomorphology. The conference will also focus on regional-scale studies, including the interactions between climate change, human societies and landscape evolution in fluvial, periglacial and glacial environments. The purpose of this meeting is to bring together young geomorphologists. It aims to provide an opportunity for young researchers to present their work and discuss new research in geomorphology and advances in associated methods.
A two-days excursion is proposed to discover the fluvial and periglacial geomorphology in alpine environments. Field trips will be held in Chamonix Valley (Gorges de l’Arveyron, Mer de Glace) and Veny Valley (La Visaille-Miage lake, Planpincieux and Pré de Bar Glaciers). Excursions will focus on the impacts of climate change on the periglacial and stream dynamics, the interactions between human societies and mountain environments and the multi-millennial evolution of the largest French glacier (Mer de Glace).
