Shaping Switzerland in the face of climate change

Preserving landscape services for people and the environment

Climate change is changing landscapes – and with them, the services they provide for people and the environment. Which landscape services are strengthened or debilitated largely depends on political decisions and social practices. By engaging diverse stakeholders and sectors, an integrated landscape approach fosters sustainable solutions. Conflicting goals can be constructively managed, and synergies harnessed to safeguard landscape qualities and services. Local and regional projects demonstrate how this can be put into practice.
